Sundarbans aims to produce innovative clothing that focus on modern trends while infusing South Asian fashion and culture. With the world becoming increasingly diverse, there is a strong South Asian presence around the globe. This means several South Asians are a hybrid of two cultures; the country they grew up in and their South Asian roots. We feel that this hybrid culture is not properly represented in society especially in modern day fashion. 

That’s why our team at Sundarbans look to make clothing and develop a brand personality that captures this modern-day dual culture so that our customers feel like they have access to clothing products that truly encapsulates their identity.  

The paisley pattern has become a big part of South Asian fashion. It’s commonly seen in traditional South Asian clothing normally in vibrant colours and creative designs; a true representation of South Asian culture. That’s why we really wanted to infuse traditional paisley designs into our products.

Why Sundarbans? 

Sundarbans is a mangrove area located in South Asia and is home to beautiful forestry and majestic animals including the Royal Bengal Tiger. We feel it captures the natural authentic beauty of South Asia and is integral to South Asian association to nature. It captures the South Asian culture at it’s core and therefore we are honoured to name our brand after this natural phenomenon.
